South Bank

The area of London called South Bank is quite extensive and encompasses the whole area south of the river Thames, between Westminster Bridge and London Bridge. During the Second World War, the bombings totally destroyed the factories in the area and the docks that served the activities on the Thames, and the reconstruction of this area was completed in 1951, when the South Bank became an important cultural centre of the city.
